Stitch a Ribbon for Cancer

While we’re not doing a Stitch Pink quilt this year, we are providing patterns to help raise awareness – not just for breast cancer, but other types of cancer as well.
Last week’s pattern featured a pretty bird in pink for breast cancer, and this week we are providing a pattern for an assortment of ribbons. The pattern is available here as a pdf document.
The ribbon colors correspond with the following types of cancer:
Pink – Breast CancerTeal – Ovarian CancerPearl – Lung CancerWhite – Bone CancerBrown – Colorectal CancerPurple – Pancreatic & LeiomyosarcomaOrange – LeukemiaEmerald Green – Liver CancerPeriwinkle – Esophageal and Stomach CancerAmber – Appendix CancerBlack – MelanomaDark Blue – Colon CancerBurgundy – Multiple MyelomaGrey – Brain CancerBlue – Prostate CancerYellow- Sarcoma/Bone/Bladder CancerGold – Childhood CancerLime – LymphomaPeach – Uterine CancerKelly Green – Kidney CancerLavender – All CancersOrchid (Violet) – Testicular CancerThe pattern includes color numbers for working each ribbon in DMC Embroidery Threads, and measures approximately 1.5 x 3 inches when worked on 14-count CharlesCraft Aida fabric.
